Guided by sector challenges, co-defined objectives, and the expectations of co-owners, our hub has defined four (4) Strategic Operational Areas. A robust Monitoring, Evaluation, Research, Learning, and Impact Assessment (MERLIA) framework supports these operations.

Strategic Operational Area 1: Demand-Driven Capacity Building
Our hub enhances the skills, knowledge, and capabilities of stakeholders through tailored training programs, workshops, and educational resources. We focus on three key programs:
- Value Chain Actors Knowledge Development: Empowering individuals and organizations across the circular bioeconomy sector to deepen their understanding of circular principles, practices, and innovations.
- Adaptive Scaling (Scaleup) Program: Targeting MSMEs, community groups, and waste management actors in the organic-to-resource value chain, this program equips participants with the skills and strategies needed to transition to circular practices and scale their initiatives.
- RRR School & Youth Programs: Designed for educational institutions and youth, this program enriches students’ skills and knowledge in the organic waste-to-resource value chain, fostering a mindset shift towards circularity while preparing them for youth-led startups and enhanced employment prospects.
Strategic Operational Area 2: Research for Innovation & Scaling
We conduct research to develop and optimize circular bioeconomy innovations, to generate cutting-edge knowledge, identify best practices, and support the development of scalable innovation bundles through two key programs:
1. Driving Scalability through Optimization Research: Enhancing the sustainability and scalability of circular bioeconomy business models by conducting in-depth research to remove implementation bottlenecks across the production lifecycle.
2. Tailored Innovation Bundle Development: This program is designed to develop context suitable innovation bundles that can be easily adopted and scaled by diverse stakeholders in the value chain.
Strategic Operational Area 3: Advisory Support for Policy Development and Implementation
We offer expert guidance and support in policy development and implementation to foster a supportive financial and regulatory environment. Our goal is to encourage and facilitate the adoption of circular bioeconomy initiatives through well-designed policies and incentives.
Strategic Operational Area 4: Information Sharing, Collaborations, and Partnerships
Our hub facilitates the exchange of knowledge and promote collaborations among stakeholders. Through our diverse programs, we create opportunities for partnerships and the sharing of valuable insights to advance the sector.
Development and Implementation of Initiatives
In alignment with the strategic operational areas, dedicated working groups have been formed, uniting co-owners around common institutional interests. These Working Groups (WGs) serve as dynamic platforms for collaborative efforts, fostering co-designing and co-implementation of hub activities with shared resources.
