1. What is the Circular Bioeconomy Innovation Hub?
The Circular Bioeconomy Innovation Hub is a multi-stakeholder one-stop-shop for training, research, advisory support, collaborations, and knowledge sharing. Our goal is to catalyze bio-based investments, accelerate progress, and promote scalable, sustainable solutions for a resilient future.
2. What is the mission of the Circular Bioeconomy Innovation Hub?
Our mission is to drive the transition towards a sustainable circular bioeconomy by catalyzing innovation and accelerating the adoption of bio-based solutions. Through, collaboration and networking we aim to build capacity, showcase, optimize, and promote existing circular bioeconomy innovations in Ghana while fostering the development of new innovations. By leveraging progressive efforts and shared resources, we provide leadership for widespread scalability of circular bioeconomy solutions, addressing challenges related to food security, resource utilization, and environmental sustainability challenges posed by urbanization.
3. Where is the Circular Bioeconomy Innovation Hub located, and how can I visit?
The Circular Bioeconomy Innovation Hub is hosted by the International Water Management Institute (IWMI), which serves as the facilitating institution. 4. What types of training programs does the Circular Bioeconomy Innovation Hub offer?
The Hub offers a range of training programs designed to build skills, knowledge, and capacity of different audience groups
Our key training programs include:
RRR School & Youth Programs: Aimed at students and educational institutions, this program introduces young minds to the organic waste-to-resource value chain. It fosters a shift towards circular thinking, enhances skills for youth-led startups, and improves employment prospects in the growing field of the circular bioeconomy.
Value Chain Actors Knowledge Development: This program is designed to empower individuals and organizations across the circular bioeconomy sector. Participants deepen their understanding of circular economy principles, innovative practices, and strategies to enhance sustainability and efficiency within their operations.
Adaptive Scaling Program: Tailored for MSMEs, community groups, and waste management professionals, this program equips participants with the tools, skills, and strategies needed to transition to circular practices and scale up their initiatives. The focus is on transforming organic waste into valuable resources, supporting sustainable growth.
Beyond Training
The hub also complements its capacity-building efforts with initiatives from its other strategic operational areas:
- Research for Innovation & Scaling: Insights from our research drive the development of scalable innovations, which are integrated into training programs to ensure participants gain cutting-edge knowledge.
