About the event
Building momentum for circular agriculture in Ghana
Ghana stands at a pivotal moment in its development journey. As the nation faces rapid urbanization, climate pressures, and growing waste management challenges, transforming the agri-food system into a more sustainable, resilient, and inclusive model is crucial. Agriculture, which employs over 30% of the population and anchors Ghana’s economy, is both vulnerable to these challenges and key to the solutions.
To help shape this transformation, the Consultation Workshop “Strengthening Ghana’s Circular Economy Innovation Ecosystem for Climate-Resilient Agriculture” will convene leading researchers, innovators, policymakers, and investors to explore how circular economy principles can accelerate sustainable and green growth in Ghana’s agricultural sector.
About the Consultation Workshop
This strategic, high-level event will assess the challenges and market needs in Ghana’s agriculture landscape and evaluate existing partnerships to gauge readiness for a collaboratively developed Innovation Challenge. If the momentum and partnerships align, the Workshop’s outcomes will guide the creation of a national program designed to identify, support, and scale science-driven circular solutions that strengthen agricultural productivity and safeguard resources and the environments.
The event is organized by the Alliance of Bioversity International and CIAT, through the CGIAR Accelerate for Impact Platform (A4IP), the International Water Management Institute (IWMI), and the Circular Bioeconomy Innovation Hub (CBEIH), in collaboration with the African Development Bank (AfDB).
